2016 Alfa Romeo MiTo QV - In-Depth Review, Full Test, Test Drive

2017    highschool of the dead comic

The Alfa Romeo Mito is one of the most stylish small cars on sale. Those who prefer petrol have three choices: a bhp, 0. Diesel lovers have two choices: an 85bhp 1. Like many Alfa Romeos before it, the Mito has the power to tempt you with its good looks and tempting finance offers. The TwinAir model is actually a relatively cheap way in to a company car.

Jump to navigation. But at the last minute, Mito was chosen as it represents Milan and Torino where the supermini is designed and built. Maybe Mito kept the marketing men happy, but Junior would have nicely defined what the Mito is about and what Alfa hopes it will achieve. And it would have satisfied the Alfisti, the legion of Alfa fans which the firm holds dear. And along with a new segment, Alfa is gunning for a new type of customer, one younger, hipper and, although cognisant of the Alfa brand, perhaps not so tied up in its history.

The Alfa Romeo MiTo was never a front-runner in the premium supermini class. While it had funky looks and a range of efficient or powerful engines in the line-up, it was let down by poor handling and questionable build quality. If you want a small car that stands out from the crowd, then it certainly fits the bill, but the TwinAir engines aren't as efficient in the real world as they are on paper, and the sportier models aren't engaging enough to justify their higher price tags. There are plenty of far more accomplished superminis on the market for the MiTo to make an impact, which is a real shame for such a stylish looking model. An update in tweaked the looks slightly to mirror those of the far newer Giulia saloon, but it was a case of too little, too late to bring the MiTo up to scratch, so it was discontinued in And if you're looking for a stylish Italian city car, then the Fiat is arguably a better pick. On the surface, the MiTo whose name is a combination of Milan and Torino Turin , the Italian cities in which it was designed and built looks appealing with its shield grille, rounded lines and assorted styling touches inspired by other models in the Alfa Romeo range.

The Mito nameplate is a portmanteau of Milano Milan where it was designed and Torino Turin where it was manufactured. The new car was provisionally named the "Junior". In November , a European competition was launched in which the public had a chance to name the car. The MiTo is front-wheel drive. This system controls the behavior of the engine, brakes, steering, suspension and gearbox.

This is the second-generation QV, and while it still has a bhp 1. Its distinctive styling draws inspiration from the 8C Competizione sports car, while the shield grille is a nod to classic Alfas of the past. The bulging wheelarches and small windows add to the sporty looks, while the QV model has gloss-black detailing to help it stand out. You also get two-tone inch alloys, twin exhausts and cloverleaf badges on the front wings. Inside, there are more sporty touches. The dashtop and armrests get carbon fibre-effect plastic, and there are sports seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. The MiTo QV scampers from mph in 7.
