Sex and the City fans have had nine years to allow the horrific memories of the second film to fade away. Which means we might just about be ready for new life to be breathed into a reboot of our favourite show. However, there's one HUGE change afoot which will mean it's a very different type of show to the one we remember. With the bitter feud between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker still ongoing, this puts paid to the original four actors reuniting. We sadly won't be getting to see a post menopause Samantha living her best life, nor if Carrie and Big are finally managing to enjoy being married.

Sex and the City is returning to TV — just not in the way anybody expected. The beloved franchise has been stalled because of the feud between stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall , so it will instead be getting a spiritual sequel, of sorts, based on the new book from Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell. Many fans might not even know the TV classic took inspiration from Bushnell's essay collection of the same name, with the Carrie Bradshaw character being a fictionalised version of the author. Much like her original book shined a brutally honest light on dating in your 30s, Is There Still Sex in the City? While the show will still be set between Upper East Side of Manhattan and the Village, there's no indication it will actually bring back the original characters or cast. At one time, something meant the beginning of retirement—working less, spending more time on your hobbies, with your friends, who like you were sliding into a more leisurely lifestyle.

The story revolves around four sassy New-York based women, Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha who are in search of love, romance and long-lasting relationships. Carrie and friends wonder if women just want to be rescued, and they attend a firefighters' benefit to find out. Meanwhile, Steve David Eigenberg unnerves Miranda with his devotion; a local politician John Slattery wants more than Carrie's vote; and Ch more… Carrie and friends wonder if women just want to be rescued, and they attend a firefighters' benefit to find out. Meanwhile, Steve David Eigenberg unnerves Miranda with his devotion; a local politician John Slattery wants more than Carrie's vote; and Charlotte sets her sights on the altar. Ricky: Mike Lombardi.

Sex and the City is returning to TV! Except, not in the way we were hoping for. While the book isn't out yet, it has already been signed to be turned into a TV series with Paramount Television. There's no sign that the new story will feature any of the original characters, so we shouldn't have too high hopes for a return of Carrie Bradshaw. However, what we do know is that it's set in the Upper East Side and the Village, and it will tell a similar story about female friendship. This time, though, the characters are going to be in their 50s and 60s, and the topics covered will be marriage, divorce, grief and children, rather than dating in your 30s.

Timothy Olyphant, Kat Dennings and David Duchovny are just some of the faces to keep an eye out for while rewatching the award-winning series. To fully appreciate the groundbreaking series and its female-driven stories, these episodes need to be watched in their original form. Twenty years after the groundbreaking series premiere, the actor and executive producer reveals the biggest misconception about Carrie, and which iconic accessory she kept from set. Executive producer Michael Patrick King celebrates the seminal series by looking back at its humble beginnings — and evolution into an international phenomenon. During a talk at the Tribeca Film Festival the actor and executive producer of Divorce discussed her production company, finding joy in playing unfamiliar characters and her iconic role in Sex and the City.
